I am 56 years old, and have been teaching full time at Mount St. Joseph for eleven years. I'm married to my wife, Lynne, a writer and a psychotherapist, have two grown children, a son , David, 29 a daughter, Brooke, who is 23,  a granddaughter, Ciera, who is 8, and a chocolate Lab,  Hannah, who is two. I've lived in Oxford, Ohio, for 30 years, although I grew up in a small town in Conn.

Before going into teaching, I spent 25 years doing pastoral counseling, which reflects my long-term interest in the integration of psychology and religion. This interest impacts many of the courses that I currently teach.  I'm also interested in the use of dialogue in the classroom, and in interdisciplinary teaching.

I like to read, garden, play golf , and take pictures.

In 1999,  I had the opportunity to spend four weeks studying the Holocaust at Yad Vashem, the International School of Holocaust studies in Jerusalem, a wonderful learning experience
